Rates

Many factors that have an impact on utility rates cannot be controlled. However, Jackson Energy Authority works diligently to keep operating and maintenance expenses down. This efficient operation allows us to maintain utility rates that fall well below the national average. We are confident in knowing that our customers receive value for their energy dollar.

Effective October 2024: The TVA Board of Directors has approved a nominal 5.25% electric rate increase to take effect in October 2024.  For JEA residential customers, this will translate to an increase of about $3.64 per month.  JEA will not keep any portion of the increase.  The additional cost will strictly be a pass through from TVA, who is JEA’s wholesale electricity provider, to JEA’s end-use customers.  JEA has not raised its base rates since October 2018 and is committed to keeping rates as low as possible for our customers.
