Locating Your Business’s Natural Gas Meter

Your natural gas meter should be mounted outside your business where the gas service line comes up from the ground to the meter, often on the side or the rear. If your business is in a multi-unit retail facility, typically the meters will be grouped together in a meter bank, each labeled with a unit number. Knowing the location of your natural gas meter not only helps when monitoring your business’s natural gas usage but also when communicating to emergency officials in the event of a natural gas emergency.

From time to time, Jackson Energy Authority may perform required maintenance on your meter or service line. It is important to have safe and clear access to your service line and meter. Avoid landscaping, signage, debris or other obstructions around your natural gas equipment.
