Charges for the use of the meter will be based on the G-1 rate with a minimum bill based on the meter size. The monthly minimum will be the minimum bill or the actual consumption, whichever of the two is highest.
A one-time billing and handling charge of $50 for each meter will be added to the first bill. (Charge can be waived if meter is picked up by customer). Customer is responsible for notifying Jackson Energy Authority upon discontinuation of use of the meter.
In special cases where fixed meter locations are not feasible, said customer agrees to furnish monthly meter readings to Jackson Energy Authority no later than the 25th of each month. Meter readings can be provided by phone to 731.422.7274 or by email to billing@jaxenergy.com. Customer agrees to make the meter available for Jackson Energy Authority service personnel upon demand. Failure to provide the meter readings as may result in a Diversion of Service Charge in the amount of $150 to be added to said account.
On an annual basis and no later than November 15th of each year, customer agrees to deliver the meter to Jackson Energy Authority for an inspection of the meter. Failure to do so may result in a Diversion of Service Charge in the amount of $150 to be added to said account.
Customer agrees to be responsible for theft, damage (including damage resulting from weather), or loss to the meter as long as the meter is assigned to said customer.
Fire hydrant meters can be picked up or dropped off for inspection at Jackson Energy Authority’s Meter Shop located at 185 Meadow Street, Jackson, TN 38301 between the hours of 8:00am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday.
